Washington, January 4 – Researchers have discovered an exact match in gullibility or self-deception between those who believe an expression that gained popular currency as pithy criticism of media for attempting to conceal dissatisfaction with the current president, insisting instead it obliquely expresses a profane insult at the president, and those who distinguish between animus toward Jews and the position that Jews must not have sovereignty, polling experts announced today.

A survey by Dunning Unified Humanities (DUH), a political research firm, found that 98% or respondents who labeled the “Let’s go Brandon!” slogan nothing more than a euphemism for an R-rated epithet also accepted that anti-Zionism is different from antisemitism, a phenomenon that reflects a robust consistency in those respondents’ capacity to shoehorn facts into ill-fitting preconceived biases, whether conscious or not.

“It takes a similar type of lying to oneself, or of relying on sources that lie to themselves, and thus their audiences,” explained lead researcher Dr. Avi Uss, Deputy Director of DUH. “Anyone who decides that ‘Let’s go Brandon!’ targets President Biden himself, and not, as is clear from the origin of the expression, a mocking reference to left-leaning media’s ham-fisted efforts to conceal just how unpopular Biden is, shows exactly the kind of gullibility, willful distortion, or cognitive dissonance necessary to accept that opposing the existence or security of Jewish sovereignty in the ancestral Jewish homeland somehow differs from general opposition to Jewish welfare and security.”

The epithet-cum-slogan emerged during a NASCAR event several months ago, when an NBC journalist explained to viewers that the crowd chanting. “F— Joe Biden” was in fact yelling, “Let’s go, Brandon!” in encouragement of an event participant. The incident went viral as an encapsulation of various media outlets’ clumsy overreach to bolster the Democratic Party president, instead of the expectation in a healthy democracy that the press take an adversarial attitude and tone toward whichever party holds power – thus undermining in the public eye the hostility that the press corps at large showed toward President Donald Trump, indicating that such hostility stemmed not from the industry’s self-proclaimed role as speaking truth to power and holding the government accountable to the public, but from partisan bias.

Uss cautioned that correlation does not imply causation, and that a more fundamental factor may well exist that explains why the overlap between those who accept the truth of both “anti-Zionists aren’t antisemitic” and that “Let’s go Brandon” constitutes an insurrection-worthy obscenity approaches 100%.
