The libel continues to find currency among Gazans and supporters of violent Palestinian opposition to Israel.
Gaza City, November 9 – A pro-Palestinian online activist whose contribution to online discourse involves manipulating, recycling, and falsely labeling images to slander Israel for its defensive or preemptive actions against Palestinian terrorists voiced his excitement today at the onset of the rainy season in the Levant, now that he can test the combined effects of the image manipulation and the annual canard of Israel opening non-existent dams outside the Gaza Strip to flood the territory just to immiserate its inhabitants.
Aziz Bukhri, 30, paused from his Photoshop and AI-generation to speak with a reporter today. “I’m excited to see what this combination of factors does for the effectiveness of my work,” he gushed. “Most Israeli operations against attacks from Gaza take place during the summer. The last time anything big happened in cooler weather was Israel’s Operation Cast Lead, back in late 2008, early 2009. This side of cognitive warfare was still in its infancy.”
Bukhri cited a handful of notable early examples, such as a local stringer photographer who doctored photos of an Israeli bombing of Hezbollah positions in the 2006 Lebanon War to add extra smoke; the photographer was fired, but his inspiration lives on in pro-Palestine online activism.
Hamas diversion of tax revenue and international aid for warmaking instead of infrastructure and economic development has condemned the Gaza Strip to floods each time significant rainfall occurs. Hamas and its allies blame Israel for the phenomenon, beginning several years ago with the charge that the Jewish State “opens dams” in the area to flood Gaza; no such dams exist, but the libel continues to find currency among Gazans and supporters of violent Palestinian opposition to Israel’s existence.
“It’s important to subordinate everything to the struggle against the Zionists,” explained Bukhri. “I’m not even talking about subordinating our own welfare, which Hamas does quite well, using Palestinian suffering, much of it self-inflicted, as a PR weapon. I’m talking about subordinating the truth itself. Since, axiomatically, the struggle for Palestine against the Jewish usurper is a battle against absolute evil, and we must overcome evil at all costs, even facts must be forced to fit the righteous narrative. Can you imagine how awesome it will be to have images of Palestinians suffering homelessness from Israeli bombing, but also being drowned in the torrents from open Israeli dams? I can’t wait to put those images out there and see what impact they have.”
“I hope the AI utilities are up to the task.”
