Washington, September 17 – Spokespeople for the incumbent vice president’s election campaign accused her rival candidate of weakness and gutlessness today after the latter candidate refused to participate in a scheduled third round of someone shooting at him.
The Harris for President X (Twitter) account uploaded a post this morning that called former President Donald Trump a “spineless coward” for backing out of a third assassination attempt. The post accused the GOP candidate of fearing further exposure to the American people of his blood.
“Trump can try to hide,” the post read, “but the American people, especially the voters, can see him nevertheless. They will have a shot at getting rid of him, either on Election Day or before.”
The post on X preceded a barrage of other releases from the campaign. A press release characterized Trump’s refusal to accept the terms of a third assassination attempt as “yet another example in a long line of examples showing him unfit and unwilling to make the sacrifices a leader must make.”
Campaign surrogates made posts of their own, disseminating the talking point that Trump has revealed himself as a selfish poltroon once again by refusing to accept the Harris campaigns terms for a third assassination attempt. “He’s afraid of her,” insisted Harry Sisson. “When a boss lady calls for you to be eliminated, you agree to be eliminated. That’s what Trump still doesn’t get. But he will get it, one way or another.”
The first assassination attempt took place on July 13 of this year. An apparently-unstable man with checkered political allegiances gained access to a rooftop at a Trump outdoor speaking event in Butler, Pennsylvania, and managed to get off eight shots before Secret service agents killed him. One shot killed an attendee and injured two others; and one clipped Trump in the right ear just as he turned his head to look at a chart. The movement saved his life.
The second attempt took place this past Sunday at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents identified a man waiting in the bushes with a gun, whom they later captured. The would-be assassin turned out to be a 58-year-old Harris supporter with a radical streak.
Harris campaign sources disclosed that they wished to hold the third assassination attempt some time in early October. Several spoke of disagreement as to whether the shooter will be a disgruntled GOP voter, a Ukrainian nationalist, a Russian agent, or several other possibilities. they agreed, however, on the critical importance of having Israel blamed no matter what.
