The article attempts to reconstruct a Bible that contains such lost literary and spiritual treasures.
Jerusalem, April 5 – Critical scholars have concluded that the foundational texts of the world’s major faiths feature the glaring absence of material from non-cisgender marginalized groups, a finding that they claim can only be explained by the deliberate, malicious, and transphobic redaction on the part of the individuals and groups that put together those corpuses of texts.
Researchers at the Institute for Delusional Impositions of Our Tendentious Ideology on the Canonical (IDIOTIC) published a paper this week outlining the IDIOTIC contention that the Bible, Quran, Bagavad-Gita, and other ancient books that undergird humanity’s largest religious movements contain no works by known transsexuals, non-binary persons of color, or other non-mainstream sexualities of immigrant non-genders, an observation with which the vast majority of religion scholars readily agree, but IDIOTIC takes the claim a step further: that these writings contain no such works as a result of intentional censorship by hateful TERFs who played a role in the assembly and canonization of religious works.
“No other explanation seems plausible,” stated lead author Anna Kroniszt, a member of the IDIOTIC editorial committee. “Progressive scholarship established long ago that ancient texts, especially the religious ones, and especially the religious ones that people in the West still somehow revere even though we’ve told them loudly again and again that doing so makes them backward Neanderthal Nazis, violate the fundamental tenets of morality that should have been as obvious then as it is obvious now – at least to us enlightened progressives, anyway. But I, for one, refuse to accept that no one back then bucked the official line. There absolutely must have been a transgender activist who wrote scathing critiques of the patriarchal capitalist bourgeoisie. Where are those critiques? Suppressed, as we know happens to the marginalized. It couldn’t have been any easier back then to get published, and probably with the same flimsy pretexts: ‘shoddy research;’ ‘unproven contentions;’ ‘childish logic.’ I’ve seen them all. Misogynist bigots who wouldn’t know truth if it hit them over the head and kept screaming that they’re a whole tub of deplorables.”
The IDIOTIC article attempts to reconstruct a Bible that contains such lost literary and spiritual treasures. “To do so, we had to make certain assumptions, suppositions,” Kroniszt acknowledged. “None of us here at the Institute know much Hebrew or Aramaic, for example, so we had to take certain liberties with language. But this pilot project, to put the disappeared people back into history, makes me very excited. Just the few examples we’ve published of what we think those heroic, embattled figures might have said, will make you think.”
“It couldn’t be much different in credibility than the Documentary Hypothesis,” she added.
