Washington, November 2 – The racist rhetoric and the blindness to human suffering that Republicans display time and time again necessitate repeated reminders that absolutely no person on this planet can be considered illegitimate, having no rights, and restricted from residing wherever they feel most appropriate – unless that person is Jewish, because everyone knows Jews are only allowed to live somewhere if no one protests.
I have gone to the border with Mexico to cry over children in cages. I have marched with my sisters against sexism and homophobia. I have demonstrated my credentials as a caring, progressive human being, and while I’m no expert on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – as I have stated in recorded clips, as well – I know for certain that we must support our Palestinian sisters in their liberation struggle, because no human being is illegal! This does not include Jews, whom a dominant strain of Palestinian thought considers not to be human anyway.
In the current conflict, it is criminal that Israel continues to fire on areas of Gaza full of civilians. Human life is precious! You will not hear me condemn Hamas fire toward Israeli communities, because the rules say Jews aren’t allowed there if anyone objects, and because Hamas and many others object to Jews living there, those Jews become legitimate targets. No human is illegal!
This consideration led me to vote against funding for the Iron Dome. That system unjustly shields Jews from the rockets of those who rightfully object to Jews living anywhere, and I will not stand for anything that so dehumanizes the legitimate human aspirations of the Palestinians to Jew-free living space.
In New York, I vow to look for ways to make room and free up resources for migrants seeking a better life in the US – and perhaps the chief avenue for those endeavors will be to get rid of Jews, seize their assets, and generally treat them the way people have always treated them when enough began to object to their presence. History should be our guide here. For the sake of the migrants! No human is illegal! Have you no empathy?
On a related note, it is immoral to demand that countries neighboring the Palestinians accept Palestinian refugees. Palestinian refugees deserve return to homes that no longer exist in Israel, where most of them have never been, and their departure from Gaza means they might never return.
But they can come here, no problem, I guess.
