Palestinian civilians are not actually the people the Biden administration aims to help. That distinction belongs to the mullahs.
Bandar Abbas, Islamic Republic of Iran, March 20 – The Biden Administration performed a rapid redirection of assets today, announcing that the makeshift port intended for aid to embattled Palestinians will instead head to this Persian Gulf city, where the Ayatollahs can decide directly how to dispense the shipments that come through, rather than delegating the task to Palestinian proxy militias.
White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby told reporters Wednesday that the president’s plan, announced the week before last, to facilitate delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip by deploying a floating harbor, has undergone a shift, and the portable facility will be delivered to Iran.
“When it comes down to it, Iran is the party the president actually wants to please,” acknowledged Kirby. “Smoothing Iran’s path to nuclear weapons, ballistic missile capabilities, and regional hegemony sits at the very center of the president’s vision for the Middle East and beyond. Keeping Palestinians from starving or freezing is all well and good, but we can only do so much there. I’ll be the first to admit we all know the aid we deliver would be snatched up in an instant by Hamas – an Iran proxy – and mostly hoarded for itself while selling the remainder to impoverished Gazans. More effective to use the floating harbor as a gesture of submission and appeasement to Iran, which is something that always works. Under Presidents Obama and Biden, Iran has been famously peace-seeking.”
Providing aid for more than a million Gaza residents in need, many of them displaced from their homes amid the war, has proved a challenge that various international actors have struggled to meet. Hamas controls the official aid organizations operating in Gaza, and dozens of trucks sit on the Gaza side of the Israel-Gaza frontier for days at a time before unloading and distribution, if that happens at all. Gaza residents have attacked and looted many of the trucks entering both from Israel and from Egypt; American and other aircraft have coordinated with Israel to drop aid from the air. The floating port initiative at first seemed to offer potential for increased aid delivery capacity. However, Kirby explained, Palestinian civilians are not actually the people the Biden administration aims to help. That distinction belongs to the mullahs of Iran.
“The president believes that if we keep giving the Ayatollahs what they want, Iran will leave us alone,” he stated. “That’s the way it always works with expansionist, imperialist Islamists and their Nazi predecessors.”
